Ceramic Coating on the Costa Blanca
Ceramic coating is the most advanced chemical protection available for your vehicle. Once cured, it forms a hard silica layer over the paintwork that repels water, dirt, insects and UV rays for years. At Garaje Royal, we apply the finest ceramic systems on the market with warranties of up to 10 years.
What is Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic coating is a liquid silica-based polymer (SiO2) applied by hand to the bodywork. When cured, it creates a molecular bond with the paint that cannot be removed by conventional washing. The result is an extremely hydrophobic, glossy, chemically resistant surface that also blocks UV degradation.
Benefits of Ceramic Coating
- Extreme hydrophobic effect: Water and dirt bead off the surface without adhering. Washing your car becomes significantly easier and faster.
- UV protection: The Costa Blanca sun is intense. Ceramic coating blocks the UV rays that oxidise and fade paint over time.
- Enhanced gloss: Coating amplifies the paint’s reflectivity, giving exceptional colour depth and mirror-like shine.
- Chemical resistance: Protects against acidic soaps, cleaning products and industrial fallout — especially relevant near marinas and coastal areas.
- Durability: Unlike a conventional wax that lasts weeks, a professional ceramic coating lasts 3 to 10 years.

Ceramic Coating vs PPF — Which Do I Need?
The honest answer: they are not competitors, they are complementary. PPF provides mechanical protection against impacts and chips. Ceramic coating provides chemical protection and amplifies gloss. The optimal solution is PPF first, then ceramic coating over it — giving you the maximum possible protection on both fronts.
Post-Application Care
After application, the vehicle must not get wet for 72 hours while the coating cures. After that, gentle hand washing or contactless wash systems are all you need. Automatic brush car washes are strictly not recommended.
